Fri- Sun Sept 11-13 Adirondack 90 Miler Canoe Race - Entry Fee: $200pp for solo boats, $175pp for tandem boats and C-4 paddlers, $150pp for Voyageur Canoe paddlers (AWA members get $25 discount). A three-day paddling event following the original "highways of the Adirondacks" the inter-connected lakes, rivers ponds and carries from Old Forge to Saranac Lake. Preregistration is required. There are solo, tandem, 4-person and Voyageur canoes, solo and tandem kayaks and Adirondack guide boats. There is a 250 boat limit. There are both competitive and "Open Touring" classes. Fri & Sat Sept 11 & 12 Old Forge Ky-Tri - A Kayak, Run, Bike event unique in many ways. Each event is it's own stand alone event, combined they make up the Old Forge Ky-Tri. Choose one, two or all three events for a weekend of fitness and fun. The Ky-Tri will be part of the Old Forge Marathon weekend with over 1000 athletes from all over the USA in attendance. Be sure to read the full descriptions of each event to get a better feel for what the weekend is all about. The 3.3 Mile Kayak event will be held on Friday Sept 11 starting at 3:00 PM. The Kayak event will start/finish at the Old Forge Public Beach located on Lakeview Ave in Old Forge (near the Visitor Center). Fri & Sat Sept 11 & 12 2020 Old Forge Marathon (26.2,13.1,10k, 5K) - The full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K all take place on established bike trails (snowmobile in the winter) that run between the northeast portion of Old Forge, just north of Water Safari, and work their way towards Eagle Bay. The trail course is mostly gravel and dirt roads. A true Adirondack experience. Fall foliage is estimated to be about 15%-25% peak. For the second year a 10K race will take place on Friday, the day before the big event. Do the 10K as a solo event or BE THE LOON- run the 10K on Friday and the half or full marathon on Saturday for the 2 Day Loon Challenge experience and of course earn some extra LOONY SWAG!A portion of the race proceeds will benefit Old Forge HS Key Club and other local area benefactors. For additional information please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/583218149129490/

Sat Sept 12 The Forge 26.2 Gravel Grinder - 11am - 2pm. Come experience epic riding terrain in the Town of Webb on their well groomed high speed trail system. 26.2 is the theme of the day but make no mistake, it will be a barn burner. Hop up on your gravel, cx, 29er hardtail or fatbike. Fast is always fun. The surface is smooth pavé,(pa-vey, you know, like how your Belgian bike friends describe dirt road) the trail system is wide and you're invited to ride as competitively or as comfortably as you like. Recommended low gearing minimum 34/30 for a supported 1 loop grinder from Thendera to Big Moose and back. The Forge is destine to be an instant classic. The Gravel Grinder will be a timed event with overall winners (Male/Female/Masters Male/Female). Race start will be a Trail entrance at Rt 28/Herreshoff Rd. just past the Railroad Bridge.
