Wed May 1 Community Pride Day - Community businesses and citizens are encourage to volunteer their time to clean up the businesses, spaces and roadways. Free t shirts available at the visitors center (Old Forge and Inlet). Free lunch will be provided at Old Forge and Eagle Bay fire departments!

 

Wed May 1 Community Craft Get Together: Cupcake Liner Wreath – 5pm at the Old Forge Library. Free and all are welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Register by calling (315) 369-6008. Walk-ins welcome.

 

Wed May 8 Community Craft Get Together: Mother's Day Painted Pot Flowers – 5pm at the Old Forge Library. Free and all are welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Register by calling (315) 369-6008. Walk-ins welcome.

 

Fri May 10 Mommy & Me Painting Class - 4pm at VIEW. Please join Ashley Galligan from Geodesic Love for a collaborative Mom and Me Painting Class. This class is for all ages and no experience is necessary. Each group will be using an 11 x 14 canvas and will be painting the same picture. The kiddos will then be painting a wooden moon that will be added to your final masterpiece. Ashley looks forward to guiding you to create a one of a kind keepsake for years to come. Wed May 15 Ladies Night Out: Aromatherapy Diffuser Bracelets - 6pm at VIEW. Come spend an evening with friends, sipping wine while you create aromatherapy diffuser bracelets. One to keep and one to give away. Create a one of a kind aroma therapy diffuser bracelet from hand made stoneware beads made in VIEW's pottery studio. The unglazed stoneware beads absorb your chosen essential oils, diffusing the scent to be enjoyed by the wearer. Various accent beads will be available for you to add to the stoneware beads to create a truly one of a kind piece of jewelry. The beads will be strung on elastic poly cord, making a stretchy bracelet without clasps. Registration includes enough supplies to create two aromatherapy diffuser bracelets, two complimentary beverages and light snacks. Thurs May 16 Rabies Clinic - 5pm at the Old Forge Library. Dogs must be on a leash. Cats and ferrets must be in a carrier or pillowcase. A $5 donation per pet is suggested. Bring proof of your pet's vaccination history to receive a three-year certificate. Please call ahead to pre-register. Pre-registration is available by calling (315) 867-1176.

 

Fri May 17 Tomatoes Tried to Kill Me, But Banjos Saved My Life - 7pm at VIEW. This highly awarded inspirational true story has delighted international audiences! Admission to the show is a donation to the Old Forge Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

 

Sat May 18 Community Shredding Event - 10am-noon at the George T Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North St. Secure. Confidential. Free. Bring up to three bankers boxes of paper to be shredded. Place boxes in the trunk of your car and staff will retrieve and dump your papers into a rolling toter (you stay in your car). A Confidata employee then wheels the papers to the shredding truck and the papers are shredded right there.

 

Fri & Sat May 17 & 18 Paddlefest - The ultimate celebration of paddling, adventure, and community! Tues May 21 Wild Infusions Herbal Study Group: Dandelion- 6pm at the Old Forge Library. group learning session to focus on one plant at a time. Discussions include plant identification, medicinal usage, herbalism terminology and more.
