Thurs June 6 Grow Tower Demonstration - 6:00 pm at the Old Forge Library. Jeff Livingstone, Instructor In conjunction with the Old Forge Garden Club We will convert a 55 gallon drum into a vertical garden. Space-saving and environmentally friendly, this informative, outdoor session is hands-on. Dress for the weather. Sun June 9 Women's Self Defense Course- 6pm - 8pm at the Park Ave Building.  $17 due in cash at time of class. The course will be taught by Renz Szarek, who has been teaching Self Defense at SUNY Morrisville since 2009 and is a teacher and coach at Holland Patent High School. The course includes basic self defense concepts for adults and skills that can be used to help avoid, protect and survive violent situations. Renz has been teaching runners self defense through the Sneaker Store in New Hartford and comes highly recommended. This event is being organized by the Old Forge Outdoor Ladies Group. Women who are not in the group are welcome to attend. Class size is limited. This class is for adults age 18 and older. Registration is required. Fri & Sat June 14 & 15 22nd Annual Father's Day Weekend Parade & Car Show- Friday evening at 7pm, the parade will be escorted down Main Street in Old Forge. On Saturday, the judged show starts at 9am with cars required on the field at the Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street by Noon. Trophies and prizes will be awarded at 3pm. Cash prizes for Best of Show - Antique and Best of Show - Modified. Sponsored by the Central Adirondack Association.

Sun June 16 Annual Father’s Day Frog Jumping Contest- On the lakefront at Noon. Children can bring their champion frog to win prizes and fathers should wear their most outrageous tie! Largest, smallest, and longest jumper. Great family fun! Don’t worry, all frogs are released unharmed. Sponsored by the Central Adirondack Association. Phone 315-369-6983 for additional information.

Tues June 18 Free Draw Night: Don’t Stop to Think. Just Draw! - 6:00-8:00 at the Old Forge Library. A Night of Automatic Drawing. Join Adam Stone and Eileen Townsend for an evening of drawing. Each evening has a fun theme with a specific prompt. Dinner and basic drawing supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring any drawing materials you may prefer. Tues June 25 Music in the Library Gazebo - 4pm at the Old Forge Library. Join us for the first performance of the season! Future performances will be held every 2 weeks throughout the summer. Sun June 30 Road Rally Scavenger Hunt - 12:30pm Team Check-in at VIEW. Race begins at 1pm. Get a car filled with your friends or family to join us for a fun-filled road rally scavenger hunt through the Old Forge, Inlet, Thendara and Big Moose area! The road rally scavenger hunt you will follow sets of clues leading you through your journey. At each pit stop you will obtain a clue following answering questions, completing a task or stop in to say "hi" and find the clue holder. Each task and correct answer will earn your team points. Finish with the top score and go home with a prize! Don't worry, there are bonus points for all the scavenger hunt items you collect on your journey.
